Walnut  Raisin Bread

Ingredients: - walnuts - yeast - maple syrup - butter - whole wheat flour - white flour - salt - cinnamon  - raisins - cornmeal

Step 1:  Toast the walnuts.

Step 2: Whisk the dry yeast, warm water, and maple syrup together, and allow the yeast to activate.

Step 3: Add flour and walnuts to a food processor and pulse.

Step 4: Whisk the remaining whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, salt, and cinnamon in with the pulverized walnuts.

Step 5: Combine the dry ingredients with the yeast mixture.

Step 6: Knead the dough on a floured surface.

Step 7: Allow to rise.

Step 8: Punch down the dough.

Step 9: Knead in the raisins and walnuts.

Step 10: Shape the dough into a ball, cut a cross on the top and place on a cornmeal dusted sheet pan.

Step 11: Brush with butter and bake!
