Air Fryer Portobello Mushrooms pack in flavor and versatility. Portobellos are transformed in under 15 minutes with garlic and herbs. Naturally vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free.
Mix the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and thyme together until combined. Brush both sides of the portobellos with the olive oil blend
With the air fryer basket inside, preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place the mushrooms bottom side up on the air fryer basket. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping the mushrooms halfway through, or until the mushrooms are golden around the edges and tender.
Notes
Mushrooms can touch but shouldn’t overlap or be stacked in the air fryer basket. Cooking in a single layer and not too crowded will allow the mushroom to optimally cook and get the ideal outer texture.
Clean mushrooms right before cooking to ensure freshness.
Cut into strips or dice mushrooms after cooking, as the cooking time and temperature are for whole portobellos.
Storage directions:
To Store: Store leftover cooked mushrooms in a covered container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
To Freeze: Cooked portobellos can also be frozen in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. For best results, defrost overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
To Reheat: Mushrooms can be reheated in the air fryer. Reheat at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes. If additional reheating time is needed, flip mushrooms and continue heating 2 additional minutes.
