If you like classic red wine sangria, you will love this peach sangria recipe! With a rosé base, this cool and frosty drink is the lighter, more playful, and summery cousin of the classic dark red wine cocktail. Instead of oranges and citrus, this fruity drink features sweet peaches, sliced berries, and lime slices. Instead of the sometimes-too-sweet (and hangover-inducing!) schnapps, it features light and refreshing peach vodka.

The result: It's drinkable, cooling, fresh, and light. This cooling summer sipper is ideal for mid-summer pool parties and barbecues, warm evening meals al fresco, and back porch cocktail hours with friends.

Preparation is simple: Add the handful of ingredients to the pitcher, give it a quick stir, and sprinkle in sliced fresh fruit and handfuls of ice. Need to plan ahead? This summer cocktail recipe is even great to prepare in advance!

Ingredients

Rosé - Though this drink can handle a higher shelf rosé, it doesn't require one. Choose one that is on the dryer side but still balanced and fruit-forward. As you can see, I used Kirkland's rosé, and it was perfect. Only $7.99/bottle at the time of this publication!

Peach Vodka - Opt for a high-quality vodka, if possible. It is the star of this recipe. The better quality vodka you use, the better this sangria will taste. Ketel One Peach & Orange Blossom vodka is my preferred option for this recipe, but any other premium brand will work.

White Grape Peach Juice - Bottled or frozen and reconstituted juices work great. You will need 1 ½ cups of it.

Sparkling Water - For a light, effervescent finish. Choose unflavored, citrus, or peach-essenced water.

Peaches - Opt for yellow peaches, or use white peaches to make white peach sangria! Choose peaches that are ripe and juicy and give slightly when pressed.

Berries - Sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or a mixed berry medley provide a fruity finish and beautiful aesthetic!

Limes - Grab two heavy-for-their-size limes with smooth skin. We will juice half of 1 lime and slice the rest.

Simple Syrup - Sweetens the drink to taste. Make homemade simple syrup for a budget-friendly pick or purchase it premade from the liquor store.

Recipe Pro-Tips

  • Chill the ingredients before combining. For the coolest and most refreshing drinks, chill the wine and juice and freeze the vodka before making the easy peach sangria. This will also help prevent the ice from melting, preventing the drink from getting diluted!
  • Sweeten to Taste. Stir in the simple syrup by the tablespoon, sampling the drink after each addition until you have achieved your desired flavor. I usually add 2-3 tablespoons, depending on how dry the rosé is.
  • Use Quality Vodka. Whereas you don't need top-shelf wine, premium vodka will make a big difference in this drink if you can afford the splurge.
  • Fresh vs. Frozen Fruit. Fresh fruit enhances the sangria, adding layers of sweet and juicy flavor. Use fresh fruit whenever possible, though frozen fruit can suffice in a pinch. If using frozen, stir it into the drink 30-60 minutes before serving, allowing it to defrost slightly before serving.

How to Make Simple Syrup

Simple syrup is super simple to make at home and so much more affordable than store-bought! All you need is water and white sugar! Here's how to make it:

  1. Boil ½ cup of water on high heat on the stovetop or microwave.
  2. Whisk ½ cups of sugar into the hot water until dissolved. If making the syrup on the stovetop, keep the pot on the heat while whisking, but turn off the heat once the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Let the syrup cool to room temperature. Pour it into a glass container and refrigerate until cold.

Simple syrup can also be covered in an airtight container and refrigerated for up to 4 weeks.

Serving Suggestions

For full flavor and the ultimate sipping experience, wait to add the ice to the pitcher until serving. This will prevent dilution, maximizing the flavor.

Serve sangria cold poured over glasses of ice with additional berries, limes, or peaches to garnish, if desired.

Storage & Make Ahead Directions

Leftover sangria can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Scoop out and discard the ice and sliced fruit, cover the pitcher, and store. Add fresh sliced fruit before serving and pour into cups of ice. Do not add ice to the pitcher again, or the drink will get too diluted as it melts.

You can also make this recipe for peach sangria up to 2 days ahead of time. Combine the peach and lime juices, vodka, and simple syrup in the pitcher. Stir well, cover, and refrigerate. Stir in the sparkling water, rosé, sliced fruit, and ice before serving.
