With a modest ingredient list of rosé, simple syrup, frozen strawberries, and frozen peaches, this easy frosé recipe is as accessible and simple to make while boasting a serving of fruit or two!

This recipe is such a fan favorite that I consistently keep frozen peaches stocked. It's perfect for barbecues with friends, picnics, pool parties, and late summer afternoon cocktail hours!

What is frosé?

Frosé is a blended wine-based frozen cocktail with a base of rosé wine. Some recipes call for schnapps or vodka, but this recipe keeps it simple, fruity, and fresh with frozen strawberries, peaches, syrup, and ice cubes.

One of the best things about this frozen drink is that it is easy to make. Add all the ingredients to a blender, blitz it up, pour it into glasses, and summer cocktail hour is on!

Make this recipe your own by starting with your favorite easy-drinking rosé, adjusting the fruit to your preferences if desired, and adding simple syrup to taste. There's no way to go wrong with this perfectly boozy summer drink!

Ingredients

Rosé - Whereas you don't need a top-shelf wine for the best frosé recipe, I recommend one you enjoy drinking. I've made this recipe with French and Italian frosè. Both have been delicious! As you see in this photo, I often opt for Costco's Kirkland brand rosé. It is a balanced and lightly dry rosé that's currently available in store for $7.99.

Simple Syrup - Adds sweetness to the frozen rosé recipe, balancing any tartness from the frozen fruit and making for a refreshing summer cocktail.

Frozen Strawberries - Use frozen store-bought strawberries or wash, trim, and freeze your own fresh berries! You will need 1 cup.

Frozen Peaches - Frozen packaged peaches or home-frozen sliced peaches work equally great. The recipe calls for only ½ cup.

Recipe Pro-Tips

  • Enjoy it fresh. This cool drink is the ultimate summer sipper, and it's best fresh from the blender. If you must transport it before enjoying it, do so in an insulated mug or tumbler.
  • Add the ingredients to the blender in the order listed. Some blenders are more prone to jamming up when the liquids aren't added first, so always add the rosé, followed by the simple syrup and frozen fruit.
  • Sweeten to taste. The amount of sugar you will need for this frosé drink will depend on the sweetness of the frozen fruit and your preferences. Blend in 2 tablespoons of syrup to start and pulse in more to taste if needed after sampling.

Recipe Variations

  • Simply Strawberry. Swap in 1 ½ frozen strawberries for the berry and peach mixture if you swoon over strawberries. Celebrate summer by freezing sweet in-season berries, or use all storebought.
  • Mixed Berry. Substitute 1 ½ cups of mixed blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries for the strawberries to enjoy berry wine slushies!
  • Extra Peachy. Increase the frozen peaches to 1 ½ cups and reduce the strawberries to ½ cup for a more peach-forward flavor profile. Great for the late-summer peach season!
  • Mango Madness. Are you crazy about mango? Blend in ¾ cup frozen mango and ¾ cup frozen strawberries for strawberry-mango frosé!
  • Tropical Temptation. Indulge in a tropical sipping experience by blending the rosé with ¾ cups each of frozen pineapple and mango chunks.

How to Make Simple Syrup

Whereas you can purchase pre-made simple syrup, it's so easy (and more affordable) to make at home. All you need is water and white sugar! Here's how to do it:

  1. Boil ½ cup of water on high heat on the stovetop or microwave.
  2. Whisk ½ cup of sugar into the hot water until dissolved. If making the syrup on the stovetop, you can keep the pot on the heat while whisking but turn off the heat once it is dissolved.
  3. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, and then pour it into a glass container and refrigerate until cool.

Simple syrup can also be covered in an airtight container and refrigerated for up to 4 weeks. For utmost accessibility, you can freeze 1 or 2-tablespoon cubes of it. Freeze the cubes in a tray and then store them in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. When it comes cocktail hour, just pop a cube or two into the blender with the frozen fruit and wine and blend!
